TG | Members Gift Assessment

March 24th - May 19th, 2017

Spiritual Gifts are about biblical community, "God's action in bringing the church back to being a biblical community with integrity (Acts 2:42-44). By functioning in greater accord with spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12), the church is more able to fulfill the great commission (Matthew 28) for greater ministry to the world. And he'll keep working with us until we've completed the work that he has in mind (Philippians 1:6).

Spiritual gifts are divine abilities, distributed by the Holy Spirit, to every believer, for the common good of the body of Christ.

Here at the Journey we hope to have all our members fill out a gift assessment and add their top gifts to their profile page.

Southern Illinois | Women's Discipleship

April 17th - May 14th, 2017

The Titus 2 model of older women living out the gospel alongside younger women is vital for us all to thrive. It is mutually strengthening, glorifies God, and makes His truth believable to our world.

Imagine older women investing themselves in the lives of younger women, blessing whole families and churches. Imagine young wives, moms, and singles gaining wisdom and encouragement from women who’ve been there and have found God’s ways to be true and good. Imagine all women—from older women to young girls—living out His transforming gospel together, growing the entire body of Christ to be more beautiful.

This is Christian community as God designed it. We will be reading the book, "Adorned" Living out the Beauty of the Gospel Together by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth,

Read this book and take your relationships to new depths, that your life might find its fullest meaning as you adorn the gospel of Christ.

We will be ordering this book for everyone that registers, The cost is approx. $15 and the deadline to register is May 14.

Grow: Cultivating Families That Flourish

Karis House is hosting a conference at The Journey Hanley Road that will be focused on the science of relationships, child development, strengthening the parent-child relationship, and supporting parents with practical tools to care well for their children in the midst of big emotions, difficult and confusing behaviors and a growing brain. Attendees will be led through a series of discussion topics in order to construct an understanding of the role of a parent in the flourishing of their family, as well as the role of the family in the flourishing of God's kingdom in our communities.

Couples will each need to register individually.

Grow Registration FAQ

Is there child care provided?

Unfortunately, there is no child care provided. We encourage you to invite a relative to stay with your children, swap with a friend or share a sitter with another attendee.

What if I am a nursing mom?

There will be rooms available for feeding/nursing or pumping. Feel free to invite a family member or sitter to meet you on-site with your child for feedings.

Can I sign up for just one parent if my spouse and I are not able to both attend? Can my spouse and I split the days?

We understand the difficulty of arranging child care for the duration of the conference. We ask that you make arrangements for both you and your spouse to be in attendance. We hope for this to be a time where you can take a step back as a couple, connect with one another, reflect on your family and emerge with a unified approach for engaging your family. Some options to consider for child care are: inviting a relative to come stay for the weekend to care for your children or swapping weekends with a friend for your children to say with them, watching their children another weekend.

Can I sign up for two different conferences if I can only make it to one day of the conference offered at my site?

If it does not work for you to attend in full at your location, we encourage you to sign up at a location that offers a weekend that works for your schedule.

Should I come if I don’t have children at home?

YES! This conference is open to our whole church. We as a community want to grow in our understanding of how God designed us as children and in our understanding of how children grow and how we can be a part of caring for the children in our midst now, or in the future. Biological Parents, Adoptive and Foster Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Teachers, Mentors, everyone is invited to join us.
